Veteran soldiers of the Russian Military Forces came on pilgrimage to the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, accompanied by volunteers. The soldiers undergo treatment in three Moscow hospitals: Hospitals No. 3 and No. 8 of the Burdenko Central Military Hospital and the A. A. Vishnevsky Central Military Hospital. These soldiers fought in the battle liberating Avdeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Lilia Karpenko, the head of the group, told us about the support the volunteers and brethen of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra provide to the fighters, the spiritual transformation they undergo, their trip to Diveyevo and other holy shrines.

The pilgrimage group came in two cars carrying six warriors and six attendants.

Lilia Yurievna said: “The warrior-veterans realize that Batiushka Seraphim is their saint, they truly liked their visit to the monastery.”
