The domes were blessed and installed today on the Sarov monastery’s church of the icon of the Mother of God “Life-Giving Spring.” Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas celebrated the rite of blessing. Hegumenia Sergiya, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, and members of the Inter-Council Presence on monasteries and monastics were present at the celebration. 

Today, Sarov became a place of a meeting of the Inter-Council Presence. The questions discussed were the practical aspects of the admission to the monastery and spiritual guidance of young novices, home prayer rule for the monastics, monastics serving as ministers on a parish level, relationship between the brethren of the monasteries and the outside world in light of their monastic vows, and the monastics and their engagement with the social media.
