String concert at the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery

On Bright Monday, a young violin player Liudmila Vygovskaya from Chekhov, Moscow Region, a pupil of the Central Children’s Music School, performed on stage of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery’s Outreach Center.

Despite her young age, Liudmila is an award-winning musician. She is an award winner of the international competitions who regularly performs at the concert programs of the Vladimir Spivakov International Foundation. Liudmila Vygovskaya was awarded the “Hope” scholarship by the International Foundation of Vladimir Spivakov, the studentship of the Association of laureates of the International Competition after P.I. Chaikovsky, and the studentship of the “New Names” Foundation.

Liudmila has been to the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery before and she professes deep love of the Most Holy Mother of God and Venerable Seraphim of Sarov. Every time she comes, her performances bring joy to the sisters, the residents of the village of Diveyevo, and the pilgrims.

This time around, her concert program consisted of works by Bach, Gounod, Locatelli, Sarasate, Massenet, Berio, Weniawski, and Vitali.

To commemorate her visit to the Fourth Lot of the Most Holy Mother of God, Liudmila began her performance with “Ave Maria” by J.S. Bach and Gounod. Next, she played Sonata g-moll by Pietro Antonio Locatelli that took us back to the days of the Passion Week and helped us relive once more the miracle of Christ’s resurrection. Then, the great works by the composers of the Baroque and Romanic period filled the listeners’ hearts with joy and delight of their melodic beauty inspired and captivated by the emotional intensity and the expressiveness of the performer.
