“The Royal Order of Serbia” group visited the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery

On the eve of the feast to the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, a group of pilgrims from Serbia visited the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

The trip was organized by the pilgrim service of the “The Royal Order of Serbia.” The Royal Order of Serbia operates with the blessing of Patriarch Irinej of Serbia and Patriarch Pavle of blessed memory, as well as under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Linda Karageorgevitch of Serbia and her sons Princes Michael and George.

The Serbian royal family founded the Royal Order of the Knights with the aim to preserve and develop the Serbian and Byzantine spiritual heritage through culture, art, and sports.

The group has arrived to Russia on July 16. The pilgrims have already visited the Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the cathedrals of Moscow’s Kremlin, the Sretensky and Pokrovsky monasteries in Moscow, the holy sites of Suzdal, and the monastery of the Holy Righteous Peter and Feuronia of Murom.

While at the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, the guests were able to pray at the festive services. Following the late-morning liturgy, the pilgrims took part in the procession with the cross at the Holy Kanavka and took a general tour of the monastery.

After visiting Diveyevo, the group continued the pilgrimage by going to the Optyna Pustyn monastery. The pilgrimage program will also include visits to the Shamordino and Chernoostrovsky monasteries.

Very Rev. Fr. Milovan Glogovac, spiritual father of the Entrance of the Mother of God monastery in Belgrade, and Very Rev. Fr. Radmilo Gardovic from the Holy Trinity Church in Zemun accompany the pilgrim in their travels.
