The Lenten service schedule does not allow time to remember our dead, except for a short litya for the departed read after the First Hour. The Divine Liturgy with its remembrance of the dead is not served on Lenten weekdays.

To allow for a prayerful intercession for the dead to continue uninterrupted, the Church has established three special days to pray for the deceased during Great Lent: on Saturdays of the second, third and fourth weeks.

This year, there will be only two such Saturdays, on the second and third weeks. On Saturday of the fourth week, the forefeast of the Annunciation, remembrance service is not served.

On Saturday of March 23^rd, the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery held such services as memorial parastas service, commemoration of the dead at Divine Liturgy and Panikhida memorial services, as well as litya services at gravesites.
