The Holy Church glorifies today the Archangel Michael and all the limitless host of angels. It is a patronal feast of the Znamensky skete of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery: five years ago, its church inside a newly built bell tower was consecrated in honor of the Commander and Leader of all the Heavenly Angelic Hosts.

The divine services were celebrated there with particular solemnity. Hieromonk Alexander (Veremey) celebrated the All-Night Vigil on the day before followed by paraklesis with the water blessing prayer service and the Divine Liturgy on the feast day itself. At the end of the liturgy, a procession with the cross walked around the bell tower.

According to the holy fathers of the Church, God created man to make up for the number of fallen angels. Consequently, we must enter the Synaxis of Angels, but to achieve this, we must keep our life pure and holy. Even while here on earth, we should prepare ourselves for a future life together with angels, and to enter into their light and holy assembly. Thus, we pray to Archangel Michael: “Overcome and crush all our enemies, visible and invisible, and beg the Lord Almighty, that He saves and preserves us from all tribulation and every illness, from deadly plague and unexpected death, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.”
