Patronal feast at the Sergiyevsky skete

The Orthodox Church commemorates the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God “The Seeker of The Lost” today. It is the patronal feast at the Sergiyevsky skete of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery. The right-hand side chapel of the Church to St. Sergius of Radonezh is dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God commemorated today.

To mark the feast, the Lesser Vespers with the akathist, a Vigil, a prayer canon to the Most Holy Mother of God with the blessing of water prayer service, and Divine Liturgy were celebrated there.

Hegumenia Sergiya (Konkova), the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, prayerfully attended today’s festive services.

Since time immemorial, the Orthodox Christians appeal to the Queen of Heaven seeking mercy, help, and protection. The word “lost” in the name of the icon commemorated today relates to someone who is on the brink of spiritual and physical death, rejected God or doesn’t see anything good left in life. The Most Holy Mother of God is ready to seek out those who need Her intercession to offer forgiveness and help.
