The First and Second Finding of the Head of St. John the Baptist
On March 9th, the Church celebrated the first and second finding of the head of St. John the Baptist. This year, it has coincided with the feast of all our God-bearing Fathers and Mothers who shone forth in asceticism (moveable feast of the Cheesefare Saturday).
Vespers, Matins with Polyeleos and late-hour Divine Liturgy were served at the Transfiguration Cathedral. Early Liturgy was held at the Trinity Cathedral’s upper level side altar dedicated to the Third Finding of the Head of St. John the Baptist.
