On the fifth Sunday of Great Lent, the last, fourth Passia was celebrated in the Trinity Cathedral of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery by Hegumen Seraphim (Dubrovsky) and other clergy of the monastery.

At the fourth service, we heard the readings about Christ’s passions from the Gospel of St. John the Theologian. This sorrowful and heartfelt service reveals to man the depth of God’s love.

The Passia, a prayerful remembrance of the Savior’s sufferings, precedes the holy memories of Great Friday several times during Great Lent. Along with all other church services, it leads us on a journey of the Holy Forty Days of Lent to the week of Christ’s Passions and His glorious Resurrection.
