Celebrating the memory of Sts. Peter and Fevronia of Murom

On July 8, the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery held a Vigil service for the feast of the Right-believing Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom. The faithful present at the service had an opportunity to venerate the icon of the saints with relics.

During Liturgy, special petitions to protect marriage, increase population and bless the nation were heard today at the monastery, like at any other churches of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The monastics aptly named Peter and Fevronia happen to reside in the village of Diveyevo. A pious married couple, they moved to Diveyevo and spent their senior years as laborers at this holy monastery, the fourth domain of the Most Holy Mother of God. They later took the monastic vows in the monastery having accepted new names of the Right-believing Saints Peter and Fevronia.
