On September 25, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery took part in the online meeting of the Inter-Council Presence commission of the Russian Orthodox Church on organization of life of the monasteries and monastics. Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, chairman of the commission, conducted a meeting from his archpastoral residence at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Church in Nizhny Novgorod.

The chairman of the commission reported about the completion of drafts of the “Practical aspects of admittance to monasteries and spiritual guidance of novices” and “Monastics serving as ministers on a parish level.”

The meeting participants discussed the following documents “Regulations about the tonsures at the theological schools,” “The cell rule of the monastics,” and “Relations between the residents of the monasteries and outside world in light of monastics vows.” They were presented by heads of the study groups Metropolitan Savva of Vologda and Kirillov, Hegumenia Juliania (Kaleda), abbess of the Zaikonospassky monastery in Moscow, and Archimandrite Melchizedek (Artyukhin), head of Moscow Metochion of Optina Pustyn monastery in Moscow at Peter and Paul’s Church in Yasenevo.
