On the fifth week after Pascha, the Church speaks of the Gospel story about the conversation between Christ and a Samaritan woman. The Lord asked her for a drink of water to quench the thirst. As the result of their dialogue, the Samaritan woman not only believed in Christ but she also preached the Gospel to others. Later on, she was baptized with the name of Photina and suffered a martyr’s death for her steadfast confession of Christ.
