Beginning of a new study year at the Diveyevo monastery’s theology classes
On October 3, the sisters of the monastery began studies at the 2-year theology course for monastics. At the beginning of classes, Presbyter Dionisiy (Krasnoperov), instructor of Liturgics, served a prayer service for the success in learning at the Kazan Cathedral.
The classes were opened at the monastery in 2008. The instructors from the Nizhny Novgorod Seminary offer lectures. The course program offers the Diveyevo monastics an opportunity to study the Holy Scriptures and the Orthodox doctrine, Typikon, and liturgics, as well as church art, Old Slavonic language, patristic studies, history of monastics and asceticism.
Five sisters have already graduated from the course. On January 29, 2019, the study course received its academic accreditation by the intra-departmental Commission on the Education of the Monastics at the Study Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.
