“Many Years!” to Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia

Today the Russian Orthodox Church marks the 14th anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.

On February 1, 2009, the sixteenth Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church ascended the primate’s throne at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.

The ministry of a Primate means serving the Russian Orthodox Church in its entirety, tireless work and care about the entrusted flock, in order to shepherd “the flock of God in the pasture of the mystery, driving away wolves with the staff of holy words.” It is a feat of love and ultimate dedication to the Church, its faithful children and all those who seek consolation in Christ. , According to the Apostle Paul, the Primate has to become “all things to all people” so that in his sacrificial service he will “by all means save some” (1 Cor. 9:22).

“On the day of the glorification of the Holy Hierarch Mark of Ephesus, the Lord called me to the ministry of a patriarch. And I accepted this not as a fortuitous coincidence, but as an indication from on high that my ministry should be imbued with prayer for the reunification of the Holy Churches of God, unity of all, and that I should dedicate my labors to these causes. To the best of my ability, I try to do what I can, remaining steadfast in Orthodox faith, while never forgetting the commandment of Christ that ‘may they all be one’ (John 17:21),” said His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on the thirteenth anniversary of his enthronement.

On this memorable day in the life of the Russian Orthodox Church, Rev. Fr. Daniel Gatin, clergyman of the monastery, celebrated a thanksgiving prayer service on the solea of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery’s Trinity Cathedral at the end of the late Divine Liturgy. Special prayers were raised to the Lord about our Primate, when we asked to grant him the abundance of spiritual grace and blessings, health and God’s help to His Holiness in a lofty Patriarchal ministry, so that he rules the Russian Orthodox Church for the good and salvation of the people of God, the clergy and the monastics entrusted in his care.
