Metropolitan Georgiy celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Diveyevo monastery metochion church in Moscow
On November 27, Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal metochion of the Holy Trinity Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery in Moscow. The service was held in the Synaxis of the Diveyevo Saints Church. Concelebrating His Eminence were Rev.Fr. Alexander Tenkaev, the head of the administrative office, Rev. Fr. Vladimir Kargin, the dean of the Diveyevo deanery and other clergy of the Nizhny Novgorod diocese.
Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery with sisters of the monastery prayed at the service along with the parishioners.
At the end of the liturgy, Hegumenia Sergia expressed her gratitude to Metropolitan Georgiy for his visit, service and archpastoral care for the monastery and its metochions. The abbess of the monastery presented the prosphora to the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese.
“It is a joy to pray together on the commemoration day of the Holy Apostle Philip with the Nativity fast beginning tomorrow, as the period of a particular spiritual effort of every Orthodox believer. In spite of everyday cares during this period, we must find time to tend the garden of our souls, trying to cleanse ourselves from sins and keeping in mind the works of mercy in order to prepared ourselves to meet the great feast of the Nativity of Christ.
During this period, we particularly lift up prayers for challenging times to pass in our country and that the Lord grants peace and prosperity to our Motherland, while the Protection of the Queen of Heaven remains always with Russia,” said the head of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolitanate.
