The Inter-Council Presence Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church on the organization of the life of monasteries and monasticism met online today. Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, joined Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, chairman of the commission, at the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Vladyka Georgiy introduced the new members of the commission who joined on March 12 during a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. A short report was offered regarding the work of the commission.

The participants of the meeting approved the final text of the document “On the admission to the monastery of already tonsured brothers (sisters).” A new working group was formed to prepare the document “Regulations on the dean of diocesan monasteries.”
