The Diveyevo holy relic arrived in the Komi Republic

Over the next ten days, the reliquary with a part of the relics of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov will stay in Komi. The sisters from Diveyevo accompany it there.

On the morning of September 25, the relics were ceremoniously met in Syktyvkar. Vladimir Uiba, the head of the Komi Republic and Archbishop Pitirim of Syktyvkar and Komi-Zyryansky met the relics of the great Russian saint in the St. Stephan Cathedral.

In his address to the parishioners at the cathedral, the head of Komi reminded everyone that the relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh have just recently been in the republic and now it’s the Venerable Seraphim of Sarov’s turn to visit here. “We are living at difficult times,” noted Mr. Uiba in his address, “but the great saints of our Russian lands arise to be with our army defending the Orthodox faith, the unity of Russia, our freedom, while our job is to pray hard for our relatives and the loved ones who are fighting on the front lines today.”

The relic will remain in the St. Stephan Cathedral in Syktyvkar until September 30. After that, the reliquary holding the relics will be transported to the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Sosnogorsk and, from there, it will travel to Ukhta.
