Remembrance day of Fyodor Vasilyevich Dolgintsev

Church builder Fyodor Vasilyevich Dolgintsev, hereditary honorary citizen of Moscow, was prayerfully remembered today at the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

During the last years of his life, Fyodor Vasilyevich moved to Diveyevo. He donated a large sum for the construction of the Transfiguration Cathedral and personally oversaw the organization of construction work there.

In 1909, Dolgintsev donated a plot of land with buildings on the 1st Meshchanskaya Street for the establishment of the Moscow metochion of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

Shortly before death, Fyodor Vasilyevich Dolgintsev took monastic tonsure in secret with the name Seraphim. He reposed peacefully in the Lord in 1916 and was buried beside the altar of the Trinity Cathedral.

Church builder Feodor is added to the monastery remembrance books and his name is commemorated to this day along with the departed nuns and benefactors of the monastery.
