Prayer vigil for the Military

On April 18, in the Trinity Cathedral of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, a prayer vigil was held for the soldiers fighting in the special military operation.

Within the framework of the educational patriotic event “Lenten prayer vigil for the Russian Federal Guard soldiers” which is carried out owing to the agreement between His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and Victor V. Zolotov, Director of the FSVNG of the Russian Federation. During the four weeks of Lent 2024, visits were planned to the Orthodox shrines where prayers were raised to save, help and grant victory to the Russian army.

Rev. Fr. Roman Bogdasarov, the head of the Russian Guards sector of the Synodal Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, Archpriest Maxim Belikov, the rector of Knayaz-Vladimirskaya Church in Balashikha, the central church of the Russian Guards, Rev. Fr. Vladimir Fedotov,  rector of the church at the main headquarters of the Russian Guards Special Forces Main Office, Rev. Fr. Vladimir Nikitenko, head of the Russian Guards section of the Diocesan Military Department, deputy head of the sector of the Synodal Military Department and priests from Nizhny Novgorod and Sarov responsible for work with servicemen participated in the prayer service in front of the relics of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov performed by Rev. Fr. Vladimir Kargin, the senior priest of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery..

Attending the service were G. Gagarin, honorary member of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, S. S. Gagarin, С. Reprintsev, trustee of the Museum of Tsar Nicholas II, sisters and parishioners of the Diveyevo monastery.

Rev.Fr. Roman Bogdasarov offered prayers before the holy relics for Holy Russia and its soldiers serving in the war zone, and for those who are in recovery.

Participants of the prayer venerated the relics of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov.

Batiushka Seraphim let us to create a nuclear bomb in a place once known for the monastery he glorified and it became a true shield and protection of Russia. That is why we call the holy elder of Sarov in the Akathist our shield and protection for our Motherland.

It is important that cutting-edge technology and the ability to defend our country are linked with the patristic spiritual tradition and Christian values. This was the subject of a discussion at the meeting of employees of the Synodal Military Department and soldiers of the Sarov Division of the Russian Guards that took place after a prayer vigil in the conference hall of the pilgrimage center.
