The organizational committee of the Seraphim’s festivities met today at the Seraphim-Diveyevsky Monastery and discussed the organization of festive events dedicated to the remembrance day Venerable Seraphim of Sarov.

Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas presided at the work of the organizational committee. Bishop Elijah of Balakhna, Bishop Filaret of Dalnekonstantinov and Bishop Innocent of Sormovo, as well as Archpriest Alexander Malafeev, head of the organizational department of the diocese, Rev.Fr. Evgeny Naumov, head of the diocesan administration office, Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, heads of the specialized diocesan departments responsible for organizing the work and to hold the events took part in the discussion.

During the meeting, those responsible for the preparation of the venues for the celebrations reported on the accomplished work. It included the set up of security measures during the events, the operation of the tent camp for pilgrims, the participation of volunteers, information support and other organizational issues.
