On September 2, the Alexandrinskaya school of the Seraphim-Diveyevo nonastery, celebrated the Day of Knowledge with the rest of Russian schools. Traditionally, on this day the school had a solemn general assembly with the first bell ringing for the first-graders, and the children sang songs and recited poems dedicated to school years.

The Day of Knowledge is an easy and bright holiday creating the mood for the school year in general.

Attending the event were nun Natalia (Lyalyushko), the school principal, Rev.Fr. Alexey Kurnosov, the school’s father confessor, and his assistant Rev.Fr. Daniel Gatin. They greeted the students and offered spiritual advice for the new school year. Students of different grades received GTO sports initiative badges as they passed the standards of the All-Russian physical culture and sports initiative called “Ready for Labor and Defense.”
