On the day of the righteous death of the original founder of the Diveyevo Monastery, the Venerable Alexandra, an early-morning Divine Liturgy and a prayer service at the saint’s relics were held in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

Matushka Alexandra, by a special revelation, humbly traveled from Kiev to the north of Russia to fulfill the command of the Most Holy Mother of God and established a monastery in Diveyevo, placing humility and love, her main virtues, as the founding principles of the future monastery. The history of the Diveyevo monastery began with her ascetic feat.

Venerable Seraphim held the memory of the original founder of Diveyevo in great honor and used to say about her: “After all, she was a great woman, a saint, her humility was beyond measure, she a constant source of tears, her prayer was most pure before God, and her love for creation never ceased! She dressed in the simplest clothes, and even those were patched and stitched together, and she girded herself with a girdle tied with a knot; when she walked, her helpers the ladies led her under the arms, so greatly respected she was for her life by everyone around!”
