On May 24, 2024, the commemoration day of the the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill’s Name day, the Primate of the Russian Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.

Concelebrating His Holiness was Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.

Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery was present among those who prayed in the Cathedral.

At the end of the liturgy, His Holiness read a prayer to the original teachers of the Slavic people. Afterwards, ”Many Years!” was sung to the His Holiness Patriarch Kirill who was named after one of the saints.

Metropolitan Gregory of Voskresensk read the congratulatory address of the members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on his Name day and presented His Holiness an ancient icon of the Savior Not Made By Handsof and a bouquet of white roses. From the Metropolitanate of Nizhny Novgorod, the local archpastors presented His Holiness Patriarch Kirill with the Diveyevo “Tenderness” Icon of the Mother of God.
