Venerable Martyr Eudoxia commemorated at the Arzamas metochion

The Venerable Martyr Eudoxia is the heavenly patron of the Church of the Nativity of Christ at the Arzamas metochion. One of its altars there was consecrated in honor of this saint from the 4th century.

The daughter of the Arzamas merchant Alexander Zayashnikov, who died as a young girl, bore her name. Zayashnikov determined to spend the dowry he prepared for his daughter for a God-pleasing cause for the construction of a stone church.

Today a festive service was held there, with Archpriest Vladimir Sidorin, clergyman of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, presiding. Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, prayed at the service together with the sisters of the Arzamas metochion.
