Thanksgiving prayer service on the Name day of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia

On the commemoration day of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, the teachers of Slavs, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrates his Name day.

After today’s divine service in the Trinity Cathedral of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, a thanksgiving prayer service was served on solea followed by the singing of “Many Years!” for the health of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Taking up the name of St. Cyril at tonsure in youth, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill emulated his zeal in the area of evangelization. The work of the lifetime of the Primate of our Church is the evangelic preaching about Christ, moral and spiritual values of Christianity, enlightenment of the people, caring for their spiritual wellbeing and salvation. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill as a faithful leader guides the ship of our Church to salvation tirelessly calling everyone to unity, like-mindedness, and exertion of spiritual strength. As he once noted: “We must respond to the challenges of difficult times by redoubling the efforts aimed at strengthening our Orthodox faith and the unity of our people.”
