On the day of the blessed repose of Venerable Sergius the Wonderworker of Radonezh, Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, celebrates her Name Day.

On this festive day, matushka prayed at the Sergiyevsky skete of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery in the Vyezdnoye settlement located on the outskirts of Arzamas.

To commemorate the remembrance day, Lesser Vespers with the akathist, Vigil, the prayer Canon to the Most Holy Mother of God with the blessing of water prayer service and the Divine Liturgy were held at St. Sergius Church. Once the services were over, the clergy, Hegumenia Sergia and sisters walked in a procession around the church.

St. Seraphim of Sarov is the spiritual successor of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The link between these much-loved Russian saints, Venerable Sts. Sergius of Radonezh and Seraphim of Sarov, is kept alive through Hegumenia Sergia. She bears the name of the saint from Radonezh whereas the monastic obedience bestowed upon her by the Lord is in Diveyevo established through labors of Venerable Seraphim.
