We commemorate our faithful deceased relatives on the eve of the Feast of the Holy Trinity, the day when, with the descent of the Holy Spirit, the Christian faith was established in the world and the Church of Christ was born.

We remember those who already have departed this life, they continue being the members of the Church beyond this life just as we are here. That’s’ why it is safe to say that the ones we have prayed for today were present along with us in the church. They are the triumphant Church on high, but they are also with us.

On this Pentecost Ancestral Saturday, our departed members of the Church were remembered at the Transfiguration and Trinity Cathedrals of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery during the early and late-morning Divine Liturgy services and at panikhidas.
