Holy martyrs of Puza, pray to God for us!

The Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery prayerfully commemorated the holy martyrs Eudoxia, Daria, Daria and Maria of Puza on the twenty-second anniversary of the uncovering of their holy relics.

The holy martyrs Eudoxia, Daria, Daria and Maria are included in the Synaxis of the saints of Diveyevo. One of the side chapels of the monastery’s Kazan Cathedral was consecrated in their honor. The early-morning Divine Liturgy was held there today.

On August 18, 1919, the saints found martyrdom for the faith of Christ.

The Council of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church glorified the martyrs as saints in 2000, and in 2001, their relics were uncovered to find rest in the Church of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in the village of Suvorovo, Diveyevo District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The name “from Puza” has to do with the old name of the village of Suvorovo: it was known as Puza prior to 1965.

On that memorable day, the sisters of the Diveyevo monastery visited the Dormition Church, venerated the relics of the holy martyrs and glorified their deed by singing the akathist in their honor.
