The meeting of the organizing committee to celebrate the commemoration days of the venerable saints, Seraphim of Sarov and Macarius the Abbot of Zheltye Vody and Unzha
On May 23, the organizing committee in the lead up to the celebrations of the feasts of Seraphim of Sarov (August 1) and Makarius of Zheltye Vody and Unzha (August 7) met in the Nizhny Novgorod Region’s government building in the Kremlin. Presiding at the meeting was Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas and Andrey Gneushev, Deputy Governor of the region.
Among the meeting attendees were Bishop Silouan of Lyskov and Lukoyanov, Bishops Elijah of Balakhna and Innocent of Sormovo, the vicar bishops of Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, Archpriest Sergiy Matveev, the Secretary of the Nizhny Novgorod diocesan administration, Igor Philippov, director of the managing company for the development of Sarov-Diveyevo tourism cluster,” the clergy, the representatives of local authorities and security agencies, and the sisters of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.
The meeting included the reports regarding the preparation of the upcoming celebrations.
