Patronal feast at the Troitsky skete of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery

Today the Troitsky skete of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery celebrates its patronal feast.

The festive service was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Nikolay Molodtsov of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

The main altar of the church was consecrated on January 3, 2002, whereas the skete’s construction began in 1997 when Hegumenia Sergiya, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, while traveling to Arzamas from Diveyevo, saw a large ruined stone church and a single tree next to it.

The church consecrated to the Holy Trinity and the tree reminded her of a place where forefather Abraham had a vision of the Holy Trinity. By that time, the Khokhlovo village the church was built in has disappeared.

Nowadays, not only the church but also the village of Khokhlovo was restored: the local area maps now show the place as a new jurisdiction, the Troitsky Skete.
