The Nativity of the Mother of God signals the beginning of the salvation of all mankind. It is the day of restoration and renewal of man and that is why it is the first feast of a liturgical year that begins on September 1/14.

The Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery celebrates the patronal feast today. The Church built for the Community at the Mill, as the Queen of Heaven had commanded, was dedicated to Her Nativity.

On the eve of the feast, a vigil was served there.
