The Synaxis of All Saints is a patronal feast at Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery. The Transfiguration Cathedral’s left side altar was consecrated in honor of all saints.

On the day of the feast, a prayer service with blessing of the water and the Divine Liturgy were performed at the side altar dedicated to All Saints.

Fr. Sergiy (Urakov), rector of the Kazan church in Arzamas, delivered the sermon. Father Sergiy noted that everyone celebrate a Name Day since all saints of the Church are commemorated on this day. The saints have already completed their life’s journey and were crowned as victors whereas we continue our earthly sojourn and hold on to them as our intercessors in prayer.

Without fail, we as Christians should strive to achieve holiness and lead the life according to the Gospels. One may not be able to accomplish it at once but that is what the life in Church is for. We do have to aspire towards leading a saintly life.

After liturgy, the procession with the cross walked along the Holy Kanavka.
