Today the Church remembers the Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer, who is the patron saint of our riling hierarch. It is also a patronal feast at the side altar of the Annunciation cathedral’s Dormition church.

After the Divine Liturgy held at the St. George’s side altar, the nuns raised their prayers of thanks to the Lord for providing them with spiritual support in the person of His Grace, the Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.

On this day in accordance to the tradition established for the feast of the Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer, a procession with the cross walked to the spring of Venerable Alexandra. A Smaller water blessing service took place at the spring followed by prayer for blessing the seeds, fields and livestock read by the monastery’s clergyman, Presbyter Vasily Nazarov.
