The feast of “Vladimirskaya” icon of the Mother of God
September 8 was established as the day of remembrance of the Vladimirskaya icon of the Mother of God to commemorate the deliverance of Moscow from Tamerlane and his Tartar hordes in 1395.
The Trinity Cathedral has a chapel consecrated to the image of the miracle-working Oranskaya image of Vladimirskaya icon.
The service honoring this holy image of the Mother of God was held at the Trinity Cathedral. The Liturgy ended with the rite of offering up the “Panagia.”
