Today, when the Church glorifies the Archangel Michael and other Bodiless Powers, two churches of Diveyevo, the Transfiguration Cathedral and the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God celebrated the patronal feasts.

The right side chapel in the Transfiguration Cathedral, the left side chapel in the Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God, and the right side chapel in Our Lady of the Sign church at the skete are dedicated to the Archangels. Lesser Vespers and Vigil were held on the eve of the feast followed by the prayer service with paraklesis and the Divine Liturgy on the feast day.

At today’s feast, we remember the swift and zealous solicitors before God, the tireless and hard-working advocates of men, the holy Angels of God headed by Archangel Michael, the Supreme Commander and Chief of the Heavenly Host of Angels. Together with one voice, they glorify the Holy Trinity and as one mind they serve God. The Lord made them, His servants, ministers and assistants for us on our path to salvation.

A man was created to make up the number of fallen angels. Therefore, any of us, if we recognize our sinful nature and wholeheartedly strive to correct it, may also become a part of the Synaxis of Angels celebrated today.

At the end of today’s service, as we reverently look at the pure fiery faces of the heavenly dwellers depicted on the holy icons, we sing our songs of thanksgiving: “We sing praises to you, O Holy Archangel of God Michael, holy Archangels and Angels, many-eyed Cherubim and six-winged Seraphim, who glorify the Lord .”
