Motorized pilgrimage group arrived to Diveyevo from Zaporozhye Diocese (Ukraine)

On May 17, a caravan of ten cars carrying 30 pilgrims from Ukraine, with the Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye and Melitopol at its head, arrived to the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

For the last few years, the Zaporozhye Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has followed unique annual Paschal tradition. During the days following Christ’s Resurrection, the clergy and laity, headed by their ruling hierarch, would drive along the selected pilgrimage route and visit various holy sites. This year, their trip commenced on May 13 and they headed to the holy places of Russia. The pilgrims have already visited Voronezh, Zadonsk, Ryazan, Vladimir and Murom. From Diveyevo, they will proceed on to Vysha, Tambov and Divnogorye.

On May 18 and 19, the pilgrims stayed at Diveyevo where they venerated the monastery’s holy relics and visited the holy springs. Metropolitan Luke of Zaporozhye and Melitopol presided over the services held on those days at the Trinity Cathedral. On Sunday, His Grace headed the procession with the cross around the Holy Kanavka after the Divine Liturgy.
