On the Feast of the Epiphany, the clergy of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery performed the Service of the Great Sanctification of the Waters at the Diveyevo springs. The Spring of Venerable Alexandra of Diveyevo was consecrated on the Epiphany night following the Divine Liturgy, with the Kazan spring and the spring of Venerable Seraphim of Sarov near Tsiganovka consecrated in the afternoon, at 2 pm.

Following the consecration service, everyone could draw water and take a dip in the holy waters of the springs.

“Today the nature of waters is sanctified”, sings the Holy Church during the Office of the Great Blessing of Water. At the Feast of the Epiphany, we enter the life of the future age, with transfiguration of all creation and of all forces of nature. When Christ, Who did not need any purification, entered the Jordan streams “fulfilling all righteousness,” He made pure all life-giving nature of water.
