On March 9, the feast of the first and second finding of the head of St. John the Baptist, the monastery held an icon blessing service for the icon of “Vision by Venerable Seraphim of the Theotokos on the feast of Annunciation in 1831.” It was installed yesterday above the reliquary with the relics of the holy Sarov elder.

After early Liturgy and a prayer service, Protopresbyter Alexander Naumov performed blessing service with the Akathist to Venerable Seraphim of Sarov at his holy relics.

The icon was painted in Byzantine style by Andrey Kovalik, the Trinity-Sergius Lavra’s icon-painter.
