Consecration of a chapel at the spring of Archangel Michael

The chapel at the spring of Archangel Michael was consecrated today at noon. The spring is located on the bank of Vichkinza River not far from Diveyevo, halfway to Mayevka village.

Rev. Fr. Anthony Belov, a clergyman of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, celebrated the service of consecration and Rev. Fr. Maxim Pozdov, Rector of the Protection Church in Bolshoye Cherevatoye village concelebrated. Nun Nikolaya (Borisova), steward nun of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, attended the consecration service.

For many years, the spring flowed naturally. Its bitterly cold water sparkled under the sun as it warbled freely between the rocks.

It is hard to tell when it sprang up, as some people thought it has always been there while others would say it sprang up only in recent years. The story goes that one woman was diagnosed with cancer. She believed so strongly in the healing power of spring water that her health improved. The news about the healing properties of the spring in Mayevka quickly spread around the area.
