Yesterday evening, the clergy, hegumenia Sergia, the sisters and parishioners of the monastery prayerfully welcomed the arrival of a new year at the Trinity Cathedral of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery. Trusting the Lord that He shows mercy to all of us and bestows us with a good new year, Rev. Fr. Antony Belov of the Diveyevo monastery celebrated the All-Night Vigil and the New Year’s Eve prayer service.

We thanked the Lord for all of His benevolence bestowed upon us during the previous year.  We asked Him to empower us with love and faith in the new year, so that we could keep singing praises to our Creator as we ascend on our path towards salvation.

Following the singing of the “Christ our True God, Who hath laid down the times and the years in His power…” the “Many Years!” was sung. Then, with the ringing of the bells, the clergy, the sisters of the monastery and a great number of parishioners walked in a procession around the Holy Kanavka.
