On the feast of the translation of the relics of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas from Myra in Lycia to Bari, hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery took part in the patronal feast day celebrations in the Nikolayevsky monastery in Arzamas. The day before and on the very day of the feast there, matushka hegumenia prayed at the archpastoral services celebrated by the Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the ruling hierarch congratulated all those who prayed with the commemoration day of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas the Wonderworker and said that this great saint of God beautifies and transforms not only the Nikolayevsky monastery, but also the whole of Arzamas.

“We see today how the city changes with the prayers of the Holy Hierarch Nicholas. May the faith of Christ never grow scarce in the hearts of Arzamas inhabitants, the land of Nizhny Novgorod, and all of Russia. Just like the city and this holy monastery become more beautiful, may also the souls of the people become adorned with the grace-filled gifts of the Holy Spirit and we keep our hearts pure. As we feel our weakness and infirmity, may we appeal: “Father Nicholas, strengthen our faith, give us the spirit of faithfulness to live according to God’s commandments, so that no one and nothing tempts us to turn our face away from the Lord, but that we always remain faithful to Him on all the paths of our lives,” said Metropolitan Georgiy.
