A local history trip for the students of the Alexandrinskaya Orthodox School

The end of the school year has never been an obstacle for a friendly school group to meet and do good deeds or learn exciting things. The students of the Alexandrinskaya Orthodox school continue to tirelessly explore their native area, as the summer isn’t just for rest and recreation, but it is also about gaining new experiences, discovering and achieving new knowledge.

At the beginning of this school year, the school received the Presidential grant to implement a new project called “The Link of Times.” One of the long-awaited and planned events for the students has been a one-day trip around Diveyevo and its environs. Twenty-seven students from fifth to eighth grade took this trip, accompanied by three teachers.

The trip began at the Kazan Spring on the northern outskirts of the village, with next points of interest being the Archangel Michael Spring and the spring of the Royal Passion Bearers. The travelers took a dip in all of those springs, drank their healing water, and later went rafting on the river Vichkinza.

Roman Ogorodnikov, the head of Diveyevo tourist club, organized this trip, and he told its participants about the history of the Diveyevo springs, taught the rafting safety rules and showed how to use the life jackets.

The participants were divided into two groups. While some went on rafts, others prepared dinner on the shore, learned to tie knots, and played games. Then, the cooks took turn rafting, while those who already went on the river stayed behind and prepared dinner for everyone.

Everyone got tanned, felt rested as they explored and traveled around the familiar and unknown corners of their native area and brought back new memories and knowledge. This is a brief summary of the day. It will stay in the memory of its participants for a long time.
