During Christmastide, it is customary to glorify the incarnate Christ Child and greet everyone with the songs of Christ’s Nativity in imitation of the angels who proclaimed a great joy about the birth of the world’s Savior.

On January 9, the Sunday School Choir from the Meliaevo skete sang in front of the elderly nuns residing in the almshouse of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

The young carolers sang the Nativity hymns and kolyadki. Following their performance, the children and their parents venerated the relics of the monastery and admired the decorations installed on the monastery grounds for the feast of the Nativity of Christ.

The skete’s Sunday school pays considerable attention to choir signing. The children’s choir participates at liturgies on Sundays and prepares the programming of the festive concert programs. The choir is led by Nun Ohisima (Ovsyannikova).
