The sisters of candle-making obedience at the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery began making festive candles for the feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ.

Every day, throughout the fourth and fifth weeks of Great Lent, the candlemakers will produce about ten to twelve thousand candles: small, medium-sized, and large candles for church use and for sale.

“Pascha the beautiful, Pascha, the Lord’s Pascha, the Pascha all-venerable…” During the festive days of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, the Church is adorned in red in sign of martyr’s blood of Christ and in crimson of His Divine victory, so the color of the Paschal candles is red, as well.
