On May 6, the feast day of the Great Martyr George the Victory-bearer, Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas celebrated the service of Great Consecration of the church in honor of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God located on the territory of the Orthodox School after the Holy Righteous Prince Alexander Nevsky in the Kanavinsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. The head of the Nizhny Novgorod Metropolia presided at the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.

Hegumenia Sergia, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, prayed at the service. Together with other abbots and abbesses of the Nizhny Novgorod monasteries, Mother Sergia congratulated Metropolitan Georgiy on his name day.
