The Holy Spirit Day
The Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery continues its festivities in honor of the Holy Trinity. On Pentecost, the clergy, sisters, parishioners and pilgrims of the monastery celebrated the major patronal feast day of the monastery, and today, the day when the Holy Church glorifies the Holy Spirit, the heavenly Comforter, the festive celebrations took place in the Annunciation Cathedral, because its the upper north side chapel is dedicated to the descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles.
Archpriest Alexander Naumov, clergyman of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, celebrated the paraklesis with the water blessing prayer service and the early-morning Divine Liturgy in the Holy Spirit side chapel.
The faithful children of the Church pray daily for the Holy Spirit to “come” and “abide in us.” So today, we don’t ask for the Heavenly Comforter to illuminate our heads with the tongues of fire, but at least touch our hearts with the humble spark of His fire igniting them with the knowledge of Divine presence.
