There is a pious tradition at the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery to celebrate every significant event by going on a procession along the Holy Kanavka. On the day of remembrance of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the apostles, after the late-morning liturgy, the clergy, sisters and numerous faithful, including the local residents and visitors, joined for the procession with the cross around the monastery and the Kanavka singing enthusiastically: “Blessed are You, O Lord.” The bell ringing accompanied the procession accompanied by bell ringing that alternated between the monastery’s bell tower and the Kazan Cathedral’s.

On this day, the enlightening service and the quiet beauty of the surrounding nature fills our hearts with the Holy Spirit.

The Day of the Holy Spirit is a not patronal feast day for the church at the village of Avtodeyevo, as its main altar is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and major celebrations are traditionally held in Diveyevo on Pentecost. However, according to tradition, a procession with the cross commemorates the local patronal feast on the Postfeast of Pentecost and the faithful walk from Avtodeyevo church to a nearby holy spring of the Holy Trinity through the meadows and fields.
