The day of the Dormition church’s altar consecration
Three years ago on November 17, 2016, at the twenty-fifth anniversary of the hegumenia installation ceremony of the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, the northern altar of the Annunciation Cathedral’s basement Dormition church was consecrated. It was dedicated to the Vision of the Mother of God to Venerable Sergius of Radonezh.
The Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery has a tradition to celebrate the days of the altar consecration with particular solemnity. On November 17 of this year, Bishop Elijah of Balakhna, the Vicar of the Nizhny Novgorod Diocese, presided at the Divine Liturgy served at the side chapel of the Vision of the Mother of God to Venerable Sergius. Presbyter Vladimir (Kargin), the monastery’s senior priest, concelebrated.
