The day of Forty Martyrs of Sebaste is also a day of remembrance of Metropolitan Nicholas (Kutepov) of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas whose life is inseparably connected with the restoration of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery.

Hegumenia Sergiya, the abbess of the Seraphim-Diveyevo monastery, participated at the services held in his memory in Nizhny Novgorod at the Savior‘s Old Fair Cathedral and His Eminence Nicholas’s burial place located nearby. Metropolitan Georgiy of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas presided at the services.
